Activities regarding the conservation of forests, wildlife ecosystems and energy at the department of Botany, Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur (with reference to the letter of even No. dated 09. 12. 2015 by the Higher Education Department, Punjab, Lahore)

A series of activities was organized at the department of Botany, Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur

Activity1 : Seminar on “Conservation of Ecosystems”

A Seminar was held at the department of Botany, on 21. 01. 2016 on Conservation of Ecosystems. The worthy Vice Chancellor of Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur was the Chief Guest of the seminar. Students of BS and M.Sc Botany from different semesters took part. They emphasized upon the conservation of nature and energy and discussed various aspects of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Resources. A presentation Speech Competition was also organized. Students were awarded the certificates of Participation. The position holders were awarded the Certificates of Appreciation. The jury was comprised of Mrs. Tasneem Jabbar (A.P Department of Chemistry) and Mrs. Rehana Kausar (A.P Department of Physics). The worthy Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Afza also emphasized upon the conservation of nature and also announced a Cleanliness Campaign of the Women University Campus to ensure the clean and healthy atmosphere.

Activity2 : Plantation Campaign

Plantation campaign was initiated at Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur on 20. 01. 2016 under the supervision of the Department of Botany. The worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Afza planted a Dracaena plant. Dean of Management Sciences Mrs. Riffat Rehmani, Mrs. Salma Khan and Mrs. Sabiha Malik also planted the saplings of different plants. Staff and students of the Botany Deptt. actively participated in the Plantation activities which will be continued for the next whole month.

Activity3 :Poster Competition

A poster competition was held on 19. 01. 2016 at the department of Botany, Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur. Students of different semesters of BS and M.Sc made beautiful and colorful posters depicting the message of conservation of the nature, ecosystems and energy.

Students were awarded Merit Certificates. The worthy Vice Chancellor appreciated the student‘s work. Mrs. Mussarat Bashir, Mrs. Khalida Nuzhat and Mrs. Shazia Mushtaq Judged the positions of the poster competition.
