On 21-10-2015 a seminar was organized by the Botany department, GSCWU, Bwp in collaboration with HEC and Pink Ribbon Youth Awareness Program. The activities related with Pink Ribbon Awareness Program were started from second week of October, 2015. Donation books were distributed among the representative students to collect donation for the first Breast Cancer Hospital. Lectures were also delivered by the teaching faculty to the students to develop awareness about this disease.

The invited speakers from Bahawalpur Institute of Nuclear Medicines & Oncology (BINO), Dr. Kokab Jabeen and Dr. Rubina Ali delivered a very informative and elaborative lecture on “Breast Cancer Awareness”. At the end, the Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Afza addressed the attendees and encouraged students to self examine themselves to prevent the deadly disease at early stages. She appreciated the efforts of chairperson Botany department, Mrs. Mussarat Bashir, Mrs. Shazia Mushtaq (Asisstant Professor, Botany Department), Focal person Pink Ribbon Awareness Program and HEC, faculty members and students. Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Afza, Dr. Kokab Jabeen and Dr. Rubina Ali were honored by the award of shield at the end of ceremony.

A walk was also organized on 21-10-2015 which was lead by the Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Afza. All the faculty members and students of the institute took active part in walk and in all activities associated with Pink Ribbon Awareness Program.
