Scholarships

A variety of merit and need-based scholarships are offered to brilliant, needy, orphan and disabled students by GSCWU to encourage and assist them. Professor Naseem Akhtar, the Registrar GSCWU, is the overall incharge of all kinds of scholarships.

MORA (The Ministry of Religious Affairs) Scholarship

MORA dispenses financial aid specifically to indigent, orphan and disabled students from the Ushr and Zakat Fund. This scholarship enables deserving students to continue their education without financial hardship.

PMFRS (Prime Minister's Fee Reimbursement Scheme)

This scheme has been introduced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan for students of public sector universities, particularly those located in underdeveloped districts such as Bahawalpur. It mainly benefits graduate and postgraduate students.

Students must apply online through http://pmfrs.hec.gov.pk . Under this scheme, the tuition fee is reimbursed after the successful completion of each semester.

Merit Scholarship

Students securing high percentages in Board examinations and maintaining a high GPA in university examinations are eligible for Merit Scholarships.

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF)

PEEF is an initiative of the Government of Punjab established to provide scholarships to talented and deserving students, ensuring equal access to quality education.

PEEF scholarships are divided into the following categories:

  • Outreach Scholarship (80% of total scholarships)
  • Special Quota Scholarship (20% of total scholarships)
  • Special Quota Scholarships are awarded to:
    • Children of Government Servants (BPS 1–4)
    • Children belonging to Minorities
    • Special Children

Need-Based Scholarship of HEC

BS, MA/M.Sc., MS and M.Phil. students may apply for the HEC Need-Based Scholarship. Deserving applicants are interviewed by a committee comprising an HEC representative, the Incharge Financial Aid GSCWU, and the Head of the respective department to assess their financial background before approval of the scholarship.
